I'm glad to hear this. I have already planned to update OrangeFS on
our setup to 2.8.6, but ATM the whole cluster in production and I
can't update it easily. I'll try to do this at the very end of summer.

As for OrangeFS stability, we have no problems with 2.8.5 after
switching to FUSE client. Really, I'm not happy with fuse being used
in the cluster, especially for such critical and heavy loaded task,
but for the time being this in a way to go.

As for stability of other solutions, I tried many of them already and
absolutely any distributed parallel filesystem has its own problems,
and most of the problems are very specific for each solution. (Perhaps
the only common problem is a serious performance bottleneck when
dealing with large amounts of small files.) So IMO serious issues with
any cluster-scale parallel distributed filesystems are inevitable
and sysadmin will need a lot of time to set them up and tune properly.
Your mileage may vary, of course.
