Thanks Sam.

I originally configured the orangefstab to use IP address during the install.
Using netstat, I could see the connection to the OrangeFS server over port 3334
as established, so I assumed it was not a connection issue. My issue appears
to be that the hostname was not resolvable from the windows client.

After adding the hostname to my windows hosts file, changing the orangefstab to
use hostname, and restarting the service, everything appears to be functional.

Thanks for your help,

Nick Sabine

Subject: RE: [Pvfs2-users] Windows Client

Hello,
This error is a catch-all provided by Windows when it can't connect to the file
system.

Check the C:\OrangeFS\Client\orangefstab file to see if your connection string
is correct. One thing that's caught me is the port number is required, i.e.
"tcp://myhost:3334/orangefs".

Errors should be reported to Event Log in the Application log, although you
said nothing showed up there.

Next try adding
debug
to your orangefs.cfg. (I.e., one line, with just the word "debug".)
Restart the service for the change to take effect.

This will output to orangefs.log in C:\OrangeFS\Client by default.

If you aren't aware, the doc is at
www.omnibond.com/orangefs/docs/v_2_8_5/index.htm<http://www.omnibond.com/orangefs/docs/v_2_8_5/index.htm>.
Drill down to the Installation Instructions | Add Other Clients | Windows
Client Interface item.

I'll be glad to help with further issues.

Thanks,
Sam Sampson

Subject: [Pvfs2-users] Windows Client

All,

Has anybody successfully implemented the Windows client? I have the 64bit
client installed on Windows 2008 R2 Datacenter SP 1, and when I try to access
the drive, I get the following error:

"Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service."

This happens in Windows Explorer and the command line. No other information is
given, and nothing shows up in the event log. I found an issue with the dokan
library that sounds similar, but it seems to be related to large number of
files, whereas I have only one file.

http://code.google.com/p/dokan/issues/detail?id=80

Thanks,
Nick Sabine
