Scott: No pitfalls. For your servers, just restart them with the new software. For your clients, if you are using the kernel module, "umount, stop client core, remove kernel module" and then "install new kernel module, start new client core, and mount". 2.8.7 is backwards compatible with 2.8.6, so it doesn't matter in which order you update the servers and the clients; however, the servers must be running (either version) to start the clients.
