Hello,

Finally I got OrangeFS working with OpenMPI 1.6 with Romio. The
problem was on the ROMIO side of compilation. Only what I need, it was
compile OrangeFS with --enable-shared flag, without any CFLAGS.

I don't understand why that's necessary -- it isn't implied by the rpm
build -- but never mind.

Then there were two "patchs" in ROMIO code in OpenMPI, first was in file
openmpi-1.6.5/ompi/mca/io/romio/romio/adio/ad_pvfs2/ad_pvfs2_io_dtype.c
where I rewrote "swtich" to more "if" (it was already discussed in
openmpi mailing list)

Yes, I built it, but haven't actually tried running it because the
maintainer reported corruption using OrangeFS instead of older PVFS2,
and I wondered if there was more information; I'll prod him. I guess it
isn't on topic here, assuming it's an openmpi specific problem. Thanks
anyway.

I will gladly incorporate any patches that fix PVFS problems if someone submits them upstream to ROMIO (me). I've fixed the ad_pvfs2_io_dtype.c problem, but I don't know aything about this second patch, and the python script doesn't make sense to me.
