The new fwextract.pl is in good enough shape for others to try if interested. Please grab from here:
http://www.isely.net/downloads/fwextract_new.pl Normal operation is the same as before. But the internals are almost completely different. Take a look at the program, specifically at the end of the file and you'll see how its firmware database is held now. The neat effect from this is that to apply "new" information to it, one only needs to append the additional records directly to the end of the script itself. And now when you train it on a new driver package, it will also automatically look for instances of all previously known firmware images, not just the results of the manual extraction process. This means that the training process can frequently succeed even if you skip all the tedious manual stuff up front! (Yay!) There's a lot of other stuff this program can do in support of its reorganization. But if you're really curious poke around the code (search for "GetOptions" to see where the command line options are recognized). I'll see about getting the online documentation updated to describe the new stuff. But with that said, the existing documentation is pretty much still accurate, i.e. extraction works as before and the full training process still works (though the data it emits is much more compact now). -Mike -- Mike Isely isely @ isely (dot) net PGP: 03 54 43 4D 75 E5 CC 92 71 16 01 E2 B5 F5 C1 E8 _______________________________________________ pvrusb2 mailing list [email protected] http://www.isely.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pvrusb2
