Just figured-out, users can use their ATSC digital tuners for updating their
computers local time instead of using a NTP server/client daemon.

Chances are, their locally broadcasted EIT/ETT might be more accurate,
especially on a a devoted recorder.

Just toss this into a crontab after replacing with a channel frequency:
$ atsc_epg -f 189028615 | grep "TS STT time" | sed 's/TS STT time: //'

This would be very useful if Internet access isn't possible.

atsc_epg is apart of the media-tv/linuxtv-dvb-apps
http://www.linuxtv.org/

(I'm sure something could be written in C also using the packages libraries.)
