Dear colleagues,

Due to numerous requests from prospective authors, we are pleased to announce 
the final extension of the submission deadline for the 28th International 
Symposium on Stabilization, Safety, and Security of Distributed Systems (SSS 
2026), to be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, on October 9-11, 2026.

Final submission schedule:

• Abstract registration: July 22, 2026
• Full paper submission: July 25, 2026

Please note that this is the final extension.

Student Scholarships.  Applications for SSS 2026 Student Scholarships remain 
open until August 4, 2026. The scholarships provide partial support for 
conference registration and travel expenses.

This year's edition also introduces two new technical tracks:

• Track D: Distributed AI and Machine Learning, covering the theory, 
algorithms, systems, and applications of distributed AI and ML.

• Track E: Real-World Distributed Systems and Operational Challenges, focusing 
on implementation, deployment, benchmarking, operational experience, and 
practical aspects of distributed systems.

We are also delighted to welcome three distinguished keynote speakers:

• Marina Papatriantafilou, "Continuous, Scalable Data Processing and 
Summarization for Balancing and Resilience"

• Petar Popovski, "Wireless Communication and Sensing as Enablers of Physical 
AI"

• Jukka Suomela, "Solid Foundations of Distributed Computing in the AI Era"
