Because nobody have a clue about the solution ? Because nobody have an anwser. Because your webcam DOESN'T USE THE SAME PROTOCOL than the pwc driver ?. Michel Xhaard has made a response to your mail From: michel Xhaard <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [pwc] Logitech Quickcam Notebook Pro 0x046D:0x08AE To: [email protected], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Reply-To: Philips Webcam Linux Driver <[email protected]> Date: Sat, 7 Jan 2006 23:35:21 +0100 User-Agent: KMail/1.8 Look at the spca5xx driver Chipset Vimicro zc0302 sensor Pas202Bcb http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca5xx.html for a list of known webcams Unfortunately, they are not a lot of developpers that make webcam drivers. They are a lot of different devices, it's difficult to contact webcam vendors to have specification, you need to buy the webcam to made the driver, time to understand the protocol if you don't have the spec, time to test, answer the driver .... I maintain pwc driver in my free time, it's not my primary jobs. Since 6 month, i try to write a driver for my pci wifi card, so all this process takes times. If you really want your webcam supported, please made a contract with an entreprise or someone to write the driver.
