Hi all,
I played around with capture.c a bit and determined the buffer sizes
used with various compression settings. In case someone is also
interested in this, here is what I found for my Philips PWC840:

Image Size Compression Bytes used
                Setting

160x120 YUV420P 28800
                0 28808
                1 18908
                2 18908
                3 18908

320x240 YUV420P 1152000
                0 76688
                1 76688
                2 44168
                3 28808

640x480 YUV420P 460800
                0 94568
                1 94568
                2 76808
                3 58568

cheers,
Tim
