Short answer (in compliance with first look) is it doesn't work. However,
back in summer when I built it, I was planning to use it for things like
update server (poor man's CVS), multimedia chat and image synching (e.g., if
I have a "clean" image, I can synch my development image with it, so that I
don't have to run updates).
I used it for image synching (manual: I had to determine what I needed to
pass around). It seemed easier to do it something like:
HTTPSocket httpFileIn: '.../objectServer?changeSet=aloha...'
than filing out, posting in a shared space, filing in.
Also, I built a small Morphic chat client using ObjectServerModule, but
never polished it enough to release. (But you may consider Dino's IWIN for
chat purpose)
There's a SIG (using ACM terminology) that is working on creating Linda for
Squeak. Linda could address some of your needs. Please let me know if you
need more details and what kind of use you had in mind for OSM.
