Okay, I've returned to my personal Swiki idea. I can probably get it
working this Fall. Yeah! The basic idea is that it would be a semi-public
space where you can put a good amount of your information (thoughts,
contacts, links, assignments, etc.). I like to think of it as what home
pages should be like.
But, one thing I want to have happen before I release it is to have a
good name for it. Here are some things that come to mind:
My Home Page: this would be a good name for describing what it is. This would
however not look like a unique name.
digiHome: along the lines of digimon, this would be your digital home. I like
this except that google already has 132 links to pages under digiHome.
cranium: a place to keep your knowledge and thoughts. Perhaps a bit too
biological.
mirror: when I look in the mirror, I see myself. You can see me too, but
it's not the same view.
dual: from theatre, the dual is the other, that representation of self that
is deceptively similar, yet infinitely foreign, beyond an impassable
barrier.
otherSelf: same as dual.
Personal Knowledge Structures: this is my working title. It's a pretty
good description of what it is, but otherwise it is pretty bad.
Ohh well, anybody got any suggestions?
