The SwikiBrowser allows you to edit the characteristics of the Swiki
(settings, setup, addresses, actions, and templates). All of these are
immediately changed when you change them. However, swikis also have
modules. Modules are created at start-up based on the settings. They are
not saved. To directly edit modules, you can menu-click on the swiki-name
in the left pane of the swiki browser and inspect it. Or, you can chose
"reload". That will reload the modules from the settings. It sounds like
that's what you need to do.

The only exception to this is the parent setup. You have to restart the
server if you want to change parent.

Peace and Luck!
