I have quickly discovered why using an external server could be better than
keeping a ComSwiki on a desktop. There is complete control and
accessability to swiki's, but there is also a lot of down time. If we get
an external server to power the swiki's developed from the ComSwiki that is
presently on a computer desktop, is the transfer fairly easy? Do I just
transfer the ComSwiki folder to the server?
Here's a political twist too: If we use a designated university server, do
we still have the same control and accessability or do we have to go through
a system administrator every time we update? If this is a problem, our
group can purchase our own server.
