Even with 30+ kids uploading, modifying, etc. all at the same time,
the SIMULTANEOUS load is typically very small. To actually respond
to a request takes the server very little time -- maybe a couple
seconds, max, and most often well under a second? Reading a page
places no load on the server -- only the client is busy.
Even with hundreds of students on the same server (e.g., lots of
classes with 100+ students at once, like on
http://swiki.cc.gatech.edu:8080), we don't run up against the
simultaneous load problem very often.
