These two are Squeak features/bugs, so they'd have to be taken to the 
Squeak development list for them to be addressed. You could also contact 
John McIntosh who wrote the MacVM. He might know more.

After closing/resizing, hit the 'save & exit' button and it should 
keep those changes.

PS MacOSX is much more stable in our experiences than MacOS9, so you 
might want to think about switching over.
