I just joined this list and have a general question that I hope is easy
enough to answer.
At work, I have an immediate need to quickly get a Wiki up and running to
improve some process documentation. I am familiar enough with Wikis, but
have not yet had to administer one. Getting something that is functional
and easy to use is key here. The user community for this Wiki is very
small, but I need a tool that they don't feel gets in their way
nonetheless. I have been looking around a different Wiki engines and
something like UseMod seems easy enough to get up and running.
Now, I have some interest in learning different programming languages
anyway, but have never found a good enough reason to spend time to pick up
some Smalltalk. I watched a Squeak presentation by Alan Kay a couple of
years ago and while he only showed Etoys, I thought that the environment
was very intriguing.
So, here's the question: Should I choose Squeak/Comanche/Swiki to deploy an
easy to use, yet full-featured Wiki quickly, keeping in mind that the need
to learn some Smalltalk to extend it would actually be an added benefit?
Thanks.
Alex.
