Hi,

I thought you guys might would have some insights and hints? :-)
The mail came in through the squeakland site.

--- Begin Message --- Hi.

I've just started running a wiki of a research paper I'm writing,
and have invited others to join into the writing and editing.
The research is based on social stability survey work I just
completed in Iraq, and I've invited scholars and fieldworking
people to cooperate in defining what is going on socially
and what might be possible in the future.

I started a wiki so that all may contribute.

But, I've seen a link to and looked at your squeak site and think
I may like it better--if it offers easy editing for the many non-techie
people I would hope to contribute. I looked through all the links,
but could not find one that seemed to fit.

Question:

I would like to have two versions running:

1. a true web-based wiki-esque system where everyone can edit and write as they like,
contributing text, graphics, .doc and .pdf files, and links,
but maybe with some editing control by me as to who can delete others' writings.

2. a more local, intranet version to test and polish what we find developing
from the web, and then to replace the web content with the new beginning wiki point.

Do you know anyone who has such a system running on Macintosh systems, or an intranet hosted on a Linux that Macs can cooperate on? Are there plug-ins for squeak that can do this type process?

Thank y ou.

Jon Gresham
