this is what I see:
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:47524 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
7058/squeak
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:47525 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
7058/squeak
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:8080 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
7058/squeak
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:8888 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
7058/squeak
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:47515 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
7058/squeak
tcp 387 0 128.223.214.86:8080 128.223.214.86:47527
CLOSE_WAIT 7058/squeak
unix 3 [ ] STREAM CONNECTED 395932 7058/squeak

the lock on port 8080 and the related lock on 47527 never clear, even
when I stop the server and restart on port 8888.

I believe this is related to the squeak.image problem in some way -

Chain of events:
 - machine rebooted w/out clean shutdown
 - on restart, swiki pages had been lost back to the last
   clean save & quit
 - restored pages from xml
 - save & quit then restart
 - pages won't display on port 8080 (security settings?)
   - I never get prompted for user name & password.
 - reset to port 8888, save & quit, restart -
   - Now I can get to my pages, but can't switch back to 8080

??? any clues ???
