There is no window of time that swiki flags. Instead, it sees if the 
version you are saving is created from an older version of the page than 
is current.

We've used Swikis for classes with 100+ students without too much 
trouble. On pages where you expect simultaneous editing, you may want to 
use "add to the page" things (just start a line with +). These will not 
lose contributions.

We run our servers on Linux and find it to be stable. I don't know about 
Mac. I would recommend making sure that your swiki is being backed up 
regularly. Hard drives can fail (especially when used in a server).
