Hi Sol, 

could you maybe edit 

    py/execnet/gateway.py 

in line 29, enabling the writing to the debug file? 
and try the example and send the content 
of the created debug file(s) here? 

Could you also see what ">>> gw" gives before 
channel.receive() is called?
