I've tested PyAIM (last release) and PyICQ (as it stands in SVN) with  
the latest twisted and lots of other twisted/python installs, and so  
far I haven't found one that it fails with now.  (assuming you have  
at least python 2.2)  I can't really lose twisted 1 support until  
certain distributions update...  (like debian, for example)
