BTW, the viewcvs on jabberstudio doesn't even show this housekeep file for
some reason, which is why I thought I'd have to patch it myself. Is that
repository out of sync with the one I just updated from?

You have to select "avatars" from the list of branches.
I'll have to clean up my CVS repo at some point in time :)
The way I have branches, etc organised isn't the best.
