Hi Lars!  Actually, probably the easiest thing to do would be to grab  
the latest SVN "tarball".  You can get that off PyICQt's project info  
page at:

http://www.blathersource.org/project.php?projid=pyicq-t
(note the download link next to the repository info)

I just committed the patch to handle this person's situation.   
However since I don't have a buddy list that's laid out like his,  
please let me know what problems the person (or anyone) run into.
