It'll be interesting to know the transports scales.
I'm planning to run msn, aim, yahoo transports on our linux box
(running on a moderate PC).
for msn, aim, transports, i could also choose another reactor other
than the default select reactor.
without kernel pooling (epool patch), I see about 750 MSN users per
thread. So if you have a hyperthreaded server with dual CPU, you
should see 3000 users no problem.
With epool those numbers will be higher. I believe I saw someone
mentioning 6000 MSN users in a single server sometime?
Anyway, our current problem is memory. Make sure you have plenty.
It's normal to see 400Mb per process RSS. Sometime we spike to 800 or
more.
