Ok, some more specific information:

New:
debian version 4.0
python 2.4.4, debian apt-get:ed package
twisted version 2.4.0-3, from debian
PyMSNt version is manual SVN install, update:ed once in a while

Old:
OpenBSD version 3.6
python 2.3.4, from ports
twisted version 1.3, manual install
PyMSNt version as above, SVN install, and it was updated once in a while

Worth noticing is that PyICQt has these memory issues too on a different
OS:
Solaris version 9
python 2.4.2, manual install
twisted version 1.3, manual install
PyICQt version from SVN.

Twisted version of broken setups are 1.3 but I can't confirm that it is
the cause.
