If I'm understanding you right, this is an issue between Psi and Jabber.
In short, Jabber (attempting to protect the user's privacy) requires
confirmation for every person wanting to see status messages. Psi, by
default, passes these messages along to the user.

That the contact is coming from AIM or ICQ doesn't matter; Jabber still
wants to protect its user. Therefore, when a person has 100 AIM buddies
they will receive 100 requests.

It's up to the client (in this case Psi) to handle these messages
properly. I believe Psi has an option to auto-accept contacts that will at
least get rid of the requirement to approve every account.
