Some words on history:
I remember me seeing this behaviour already in the first version supporting x-
status, that I tested. So it maybe is no regression, even though it reappeared 
in 0.8.1.3 while it seemed not to happen in 0.8.1.2. Perhaps it was just 
hidden by something else...

Since I was touching (but not changing) my PyICQ-t settings, it may also be 
related to that. Is there some way to export them?
