To add to the weirdness, if I connect under pidgin or PSI, i have the same problem, however, if I go into service discovery in PSI, and click on the (+) sign next to "ICQ transport" to branch it, then click on the (+) to branch the "PyICQt Commands" subitem, pyicq suddenly springs to life and connects to icq.
I have to do this each time I open PSI for it to work.
