Dear Andreas,

thanks for the fast response!

after removing all previous setup tools via

sudo rm -Rf /Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/setup*

and downloading http://pypi.python.org/pypi/distribute version 0.6.10 and installing

sudo python distribute_setup.py

the pycuda sudo make install finishes without crash.

But I can't open the champagne yet, when trying to execute the test

[hal:~/pool/pycuda-0.93/test] dkubas% python test_driver.py

I get a "wrong architecture" :(

giving up for today,

cheers, Daniel

thanks a million in advance for your help,

I'm not sure, but this could partly be a result of the
setuptools/distribute disaster. See
http://wiki.tiker.net/DistributeVsSetuptools
and try to use distribute instead of setuptools.

HTH,
Andreas
