Ok, I've been checking the code, and that can really happen if you open an 
external
file without having an interpreter configured... so, if you just configure an
interpreter, it should work.

Check http://fabioz.com/pydev/manual_101_root.html for instructions on how to
set things up...

And please, report that as a bug (it should at least have a better message,
asking you to configure your interpreter).
