Some time after I joined Pydev, Aleks Totic (the guy that started Pydev)
actually
tried to talk to the Eclipse guys and didn't have much success...

Having it in the Eclipse 'default' update site could be nice, but I'm not sure
if it would also add a lot of burden to make that happen. I believe Eclipse
has a much more restrict policy to that.

Also, currently if you search google for 'Eclipse Python', you'll mostly get
links saying about Pydev...

So, having said that, I think going to Eclipse.org would be nice, but I don't
personally have the time to go through the bureaucracy to make that happen
(considering it's accepted in the 1st place), but if there's someone else
willing
to do it, I don't see any problems (although I think that making the pydev
homepage
better, giving support in the forum, updating docs and coding could be a better
spent time to help pydev).

Cheers,

Fabio
