Choices are: 1. You can fix python to treat that (changing raw_input to handle \r). 2. You can fix Eclipse to treat that (discovering why it puts the additional \r and not just \n). 3. You can just use the workaround. Either way, it's not a pydev fix (and I think it would be very difficult to make a patch like this go into Eclipse... so, maybe fixing and sending a patch to python may be the easier way to do it 'right').
