The https://launchpad.net/~pitti/+archive/postgresql PPA is run by
the Postgres lead for Ubuntu and provides both 9.0 and 9.1 for Ubuntu
10.04.
That would be good enough for me.
I'd still urge that IPv6 connectivity is made a pre-requisite for
switching providers.
Would a tunneled POP be acceptable? I will talk to OSL and Contegix
about how they have handled this in the past.
I could accept it (grudgingly :-) provided that there was a convincing
time table from the provider fr native connectivity (for example, OSL
said, IIUC, "definitely by the end of the year if not earlier"; if they
really mean it, having a tunnel meanwhile would be acceptable). There
is always the risk that the tunnel is flaky (much more so than native
connectivity), in which case the only reaction would be to turn it off,
which would be sad.
Regards,
Martin
