Agreed, this would indeed be a very poor statement to make given that the PSF has a mission to protect the IP in Python. At the moment the only thing we can tell people requesting the PSF's opinion on the wiki content is that we don't own the copyright and thus cannot make a statement. Without a licensing scheme in place, the resp. authors retain the copyright and full rights to it. The fact that they place the content on a public website is indication that they are fine with making the content available to the general public, but it doesn't imply that we can freely allow others to take it and do whatever they want with it. The same goes for mailing list archives or any other user provided content that the PSF hosts, but for which we don't have a license relationship with the authors in place.
