My packages always show downloaded counts that would seem to be inflated. I released a new service yesterday, along with a client made available on PyPI. It shows that hundreds of people have downloaded it, yet there I don't have any new signups. Though it's reasonable that some of my packages would have high counts, why would three-hundred people download a client that they couldn't use without signing-up?
