the point mostly stands: it is possible although unsupported.

This is not immediately possible.  Kernels which are added to a queue
can be thought of as executing in one big atomic block.  This makes it
difficult to access some intermediate results which are later
overwritten.  Further, by the time the kernels are being executed
there is no easy way to get a handle to the matrices where
inputs/outputs are.
