Well, I'm looking at using ctypes and SDL right now... wish me luck. Weird
how pygame started going unsupported and I didn't even notice till now!
It's not unsupported and not dead. In fact we're working with high
pressure on getting 1.8 done and released. Maybe we're even able to do
it this year.

Well, if there's no windows installer for it, and hasn't been for three
years, how supported is it, really? It's too much to expect the average
developer to have the same build tools and correctly compile all the
sources, just to use the latest version.
