there is going to be a new SDL 1.2.14 release, and Ryan from the SDL
mailing list is currently going through the bugs.
Here's a list of bugs aimed to be fixed for the 1.2.14 release of SDL:

So if you have a bit of time, and feel like:
- hacking on a patch
- confirming a bug,
- testing a patch.
- reporting an SDL related bug that isn't on that list.
This is likely the last SDL 1.2.x release in a long time... since SDL
is moving towards the 1.3 series and most work is happening on that
branch. So if you want a bug fixed, please make sure it's reported.
Or if there's any important SDL related bug you'd like to be worked
on, please let me know.
