The big advantage is that there isn't an alternative. Pgs4a used a private port of SDL for Android, which proved difficult to maintain as the platform changed. Pygame_SDL2 is based on SDL2, which is supported on Android and iOS, as well as desktop platforms.
Pygame_SDL2 is also trying to support newer hardware in a compatible way - it supports internationalized text input, the gamepad API has been added recently, and support for touch events will be coming soon.
