I ran into the same exact problem myself a week ago. I was trying to draw the triangle, and the damn screen would only show up black! It took me at least an hour to figure out what was going on. This might be something to add to the FAQ.
The tricky thing is knowing which parts of the tutorial to copy exactly, and which parts to fudge, skip, or do in a more Pyglet-like way. You absolutely need to have an equivalent function for ReSizeGLScene to do NeHe's tutorials. But the 350+ lines of boilerplate Windows setup code? Yeah, you can skip that.
