Attached is an attempt to remedy that...
The remedy doesn't look any better to me -- the alternatives
just look like one big example, with the only clue otherwise
being the word "alternative" in italics buried unobtrusively
in the comments. It's also not clear which part is alternative
to what else. If I didn't already know what was going on, I
think I would find this very confusing.
