Well, with no limit on rotation precision, the cache quickly grows to 10s of 
MiB, so that's a no-go. Also, after some thought, I think that limiting the 
rotation precision is probably a bad way to address this. For that reason the 
memoizing approach is scrapped for now.

I'm considering doing a small pull request with just the self-cached cr and sr 
values, since that gives a nice improvement with no drawbacks. I'll post my 
separate rewritten float & int set_position methods later for feedback.
