Thanks Leif and Benjamin for you patience, I know these things can get a little gory. With what's been said in this thread, I think you're doing the right thing going with future. A little misaligned to my own personal goals - of maintaining my software for Python 2 well beyond 2020 - but that's on me. Thanks again!
