quick question: do you want your reworking of the test framework  
incorporated into the immediately upcoming release (0.8)?  If so, we  
need to get Titus into this discussion pretty soon; he has been our  
testing guru so far.  I think he's on vacation for another week or  
so...  Your work seems to fit 0.8's original purpose as a "re- 
factoring release" designed to make it easier for other people to work  
with the internals of the pygr code.  But adding this to the release  
at this late stage would probably delay it a bit...

You may also want to look at issue 51 in the tracker as another minor  
problem related to the test framework.
