For a simple example of a binding for an extra widget for use with pygtk,
see the zvt wrapper in the gnome-python distribution. It gives examples
of using the python types for the declared in pygtk, and using .defs files
to speed up writing the wrapper.
The files you would want to look at in gnome-python are:
pygnome/generate/zvt.defs
pygnome/zvtmodule.c
pygnome/gnome/zvt.py
