I have not looked at fnorb, so can't say how well it would work.  If it
has some tkinter support, chances are you can get it to work with pygtk.
Pygtk offers support for idle functions, callbacks for I/O events on file
descriptors and threading.  Some combination of these should be sufficient
for FNORB to run.
