Hey all,
I am DESPERATE to use pygtk2.0 (or greater!) so that I can run a
scientific plotting module (matplotlib). But pygtk2.0 requires gtk+2.0 or
greater. Here is my problem, although I have installed gtk+2.0
(gtk+2.0-2.2.1-2mdk) and libgtk+ (libgtk+2.0_0-2.2.1-2mdk and
libgtk+2.0_0-devel-2.2.1-2mdk) when I try to run the pygtk2.0 configure
script it gives me the following error:

                checking for GTK+ - version >= 2.0.0... no
                *** Could not run GTK+ test program, checking why...
                *** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file
config.log
                for the
                *** exact error that occured. This usually means GTK+ is incorrectly
                installed.
                configure: error: maybe you want the gtk-gnome-1-2 branch?

Please help if you can!

katrin
