I checked GtkExtra, http://gtkextra.sourceforge.net/, the last package
is from 2001-11-20, which means it is way to old. I managed to pull it
from cvs but can't compile it (yet). The GNU build tools create an
error in the Makefile, maybe because of a version issue with autoconf.
Either way, the project doesn't seem to be in a reliable state yet.
But maybe when they make a distribution.

The GtkGrid widget,
http://www.sicem.biz/personal/lgs/projects/gtkgrid/view_project, works
but also has a lot of rough edges. It is not really a spreadsheet just
a lot of entry widgets arranged in a grid. So that's also out.

Third option is to borrow code from Gnumeric, and then make Python
wrappers. But that's alot of work for something that has probably
already been done many times. :) Or maybe since I searched the pygtk
mailing list before and someone else asked the same question as me and
that person was also given the answer look in Gnumeric there just
doesn't exist any good spreadsheet widget for pygtk yet?
