Update: its only the treeviews that are becoming non responsive, along with
the menu items. Everything elses refresh rate just slows down, and becomes
jumpy, but still works.

I understand this is rather vague, and probably hard to diagnose from afar.
But what tools would you use to debug a problem like this? Whats out there?
Where would you look?

thanks again,
felix.

hi all,
iv been getting a weird bug lately from a threaded pygtk program, and im
not sure where to start.
The gui has a pop up window that the user can open.
This pop up than needs to inactivate the main window, stopping user
interaction, until
the user closes the pup up. I also have real time updating of the
background window, and of the pop up,
from the network.
The application is fine, although it will freeze after the pop up has been
around for a bit.
you can still interact with elements if you know where they are, but they
don't refresh or something.

whats the proper way of implementing this behavior? I've tried setting the
modal value, can i still update the background windows?

thanks for your help,
felix.
