Subject: Child windows in parent help

Hi there,

I'm currently doing a series of tutorials on updating Micropolis (the recent
open source release of Sim City) and have a challenge with building a python
gui using pygtk. I'm trying to figure out how to create floating type palette
windows and wire it up to a main window where the children are clipped (then
close all the children when the parent closes).

Essentially I'd like to get the UI to look something like this:

<http://www.lauppert.ws/screen1/win16/simcity.png>

Or even this:

I'm just not sure how to create multiple overlapping clipped child windows
inside a main window using pygtk?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
